Expand/Collapse Prisma Gorgon Categories
Adorned with void hardened prisma crystal, this Gorgon variant is prized for its beauty and enhanced mechanics.

The Prisma Gorgon is the Prisma variant of the  Gorgon, featuring higher critical chance, critical multiplier, status chance, fire rate, accuracy, magazine size and capacity, faster spool-up, and reload, at a slight expense of damage.

Characteristics[edit | edit source]

  • This weapon deals primarily  Impact damage.
  • Requires a spool-up of 7 shots before optimal fire rate is achieved.
    • Fire rate starts at 20% of the listed value, and increases by 13.33% per shot.
    • Burst firing maintains spool-up.
  • Can use the Gorgon-exclusive  Metamorphic Magazine mod.
  • Can use the Gorgon-exclusive mod  Gorgon Frenzy (Conclave only).

Advantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

  • Fully Spooled (wiki attack index 1)
    • High crit chance (30.00%)
    • Very high magazine (120)
    • Very high ammo max (840)
    • Very high fire rate (14.17 attacks/sec)
    • Above average disposition (●●●●○ (1.30x))
    • Above average crit multiplier (2.30x)
  • Incarnon Form (wiki attack index 2)
    • High magazine (120)
    • Very high ammo max (840)
    • Above average disposition (●●●●○ (1.30x))
  • Incarnon Form AoE (wiki attack index 3)
    • High active falloff slope (50.0m/%)
    • High magazine (120)
    • High total damage (700)
    • Very high ammo max (840)

Disadvantages over other Primary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

  • Spool-up creates a warm-up period of weakness for fire rate, making short engagements undesirable.
  • Fully Spooled (wiki attack index 1)
    • Low reload speed (3.00 s)
    • Very low total damage (23)
    • Low status chance (15.00%)
  • Incarnon Form (wiki attack index 2)
    • Low reload speed (3.00 s)
    • Below average total damage (75)
    • Low fire rate (1.17 attacks/sec)
    • Below average status chance (21.00%)
  • Incarnon Form AoE (wiki attack index 3)
    • Low maximum falloff distance (5.0 m)
    • Low reload speed (3.00 s)
    • Below average fire rate (1.17 attacks/sec)
    • Low status chance (21.00%)

Acquisition[edit | edit source]

The Prisma Gorgon is potentially sold by Baro Ki'Teer in the Concourse section of the Tenno Relay for  50,000 and  600. Note that Baro Ki'Teer's stock changes with each appearance, and this weapon may not be available on a succeeding appearance.

The weapon can be traded, but only for unranked copies without Forma and Orokin Catalyst installed. The trading recipient must also have a Mastery Rank of at least 11.

Notes[edit | edit source]

  • While the Prisma Gorgon has the same vertical recoil behavior as the  Gorgon and the  Gorgon Wraith, it has significantly reduced horizontal recoil, which combined with higher accuracy stats makes the weapon overall more manageable at longer ranges.

Incarnon Genesis[edit | edit source]

  • Upon completion of The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman, and unlocking The Steel Path, players can earn  Gorgon Incarnon Genesis from The Circuit's Steel Path to place on their Gorgon with the help of Cavalero in the Chrysalith. This Incarnon Genesis form grants it evolutions to a transformation and newfound strength.
    • Alternatively, the Gorgon Incarnon Genesis can be bought from Cavalero for  120, complete with the resources used in its installation. This purchase can only be made once.

Evolution[edit | edit source]

  • Installing the Gorgon Incarnon Genesis requires 20  Pathos Clamps, 60  Rune Marrow, and 60  Tasoma Extract.
  • When installed, the first Evolution tier is unlocked. The following Evolution tiers, their requirements for unlocking them, and their related perks, are shown below;

Evolution I[edit | edit source]

  • Weakpoint hit charge Incarnon Transmutation; Alt Fire transmutes. Switching back will expend any remaining charge.
  • Fire embedding projectiles that explode with  Heat Damage
    • Incarnon Form shoots a time-delayed explosive projectile, dealing a spread of  Impact,  Puncture, and  Slash damage upon impact. After a short delay, it detonates with an explosion radius of 5 meters, dealing  Heat damage with guaranteed  Heat status, but has linear Damage Falloff from 100% to 90% from central impact.
  • Mode switching is not instantaneous and has an animation equal to the weapon's reload speed.
  • Incarnon Form is activated by filling the Incarnon Transmutation gauge that appears under the reticle by achieving weakpoint hits and then pressing the Alternate Fire button. 30 weakpoints will completely fill the gauge. A full gauge is not required to activate Incarnon Form.
    • Charges do not generate on the backpacks of most MOA variants, or vulnerability spots generated by  Sonar or  Detect Vulnerability in places other than actual weakpoints.
    • Weakpoints on corpses or Invulnerable targets do not build charges.
    • Individual Multishot bullets can build charges.
  • Instead of drawing ammunition from its reserves, the Gorgon's Incarnon Form uses a separate "magazine" with each charge producing 0.66 rounds to a maximum of 20. Once all ammunition is expended, the Gorgon reverts to its normal form.
    • Incarnon Form's magazine is not affected by mods.
    • Incarnon Form is not affected by Ammo Efficiency (such as  Energized Munitions).
    • Charges and Incarnon Form persists through all activities, such as holstering, bleedout, or being disarmed. However, charges and Incarnon Form are removed upon death.
  • Swapping to and from Incarnon Form will fully reload the normal form's magazine.

Tips[edit | edit source]

  • Like the  Gorgon and the  Gorgon Wraith, the Prisma Gorgon has a spool-down period in which it can retain its maximum rate of fire after releasing the trigger. Firing the weapon to maximum rate of fire, releasing the trigger and then firing before the spool-down period finishes allows the weapon to be fired in short bursts.
    • Firing in bursts is essential for conserving ammo when used against groups of weaker enemies. Reserve using sustained full-auto fire at maximum spool for larger, tougher targets like Napalms and Corpus Techs.
  •  Speed Trigger and/or  Shred speeds up the rate of fire, which subsequently reduces the time needed to spool up to maximum fire rate. Doing so will hasten the rate at which the weapon consumes ammo, however.
  • The Prisma Gorgon's high rate of fire makes it ammo inefficient.  Rifle Ammo Mutation and/or  Rifle Scavenger mods can be used to maintain a steady supply of ammo. Alternatively, use Squad Ammo Restores to instantly replenish ammo. Due to the weapon's large ammo reserve capacity,  Ammo Drum will also have a higher and more beneficial impact. You can also make use of the Carrier Sentinel equipped with  Ammo Case.
  • Adding Punch Through via Shred or Metal Auger can aid ammo efficiency when dealing with large groups of enemies, particularly the Infested.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The Prisma Gorgon was leaked as an entry in the player Profile under Equipment before it was formally introduced.
  • Parts of the Prisma Gorgon have animated textures to differentiate it from its previous variants.
    • The Prisma Gorgon also has modified firing sounds similar to a Prime weapon.
  • The Prisma Gorgon's colors can be customized, a trait shared with its variants.
  • The Prisma Gorgon was the first item to have the "Prisma" prefix in its name.
  • Tied with  Soma/ Soma Prime,  Telos Boltor, and  Tenora Prime for the second highest critical chance of all fully automatic rifles, behind  Battacor and  Acceltra.
