Compact and deadly, the Cestra discharges bolts of energy at an increasingly rapid rate.

The Cestra is a Corpus-built sidearm added in Update 11.0 (2013-11-20). In essence, It is a scaled-down version of the  Supra, where it has a brief spooling period before reaching its maximum fire rate.

This weapon can be sold for  5,000; it is also a requisite ingredient for  Dual Cestra (x2).

    Characteristics[edit | edit source]

    • This weapon deals primarily  Puncture damage.

Advantages over other Secondary weapons (excluding modular weapons):

    • Very high accuracy.
    • Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)
      • High magazine (60)
      • High ammo max (420)
      • Above average fire rate (8.33 attacks/sec)
      • Very high disposition (●●●●● (1.52x))

    • High recoil when fully spooled.
    • Poor ammo economy.
    • Normal Attack (wiki attack index 1)

    Notes[edit | edit source]

    • Despite the high rate of fire, there is a significant and mandatory pause between releasing the fire button and being able to fire again, limiting the Cestra's ability to fire single shots or short bursts.

    Incarnon Genesis[edit | edit source]

    • Upon completion of The Duviri Paradox and Angels of the Zariman, and unlocking The Steel Path, players can earn  Cestra Incarnon Genesis from The Circuit's Steel Path to place on their Cestra with the help of Cavalero in the Chrysalith. This Incarnon Genesis form grants it evolutions to a transformation and newfound strength.

    Evolution[edit | edit source]

    • Installing the Cestra Incarnon Genesis requires 20  Pathos Clamps, 150  Saggen Pearl, and 80  Kovnik.
    • When installed, the first Evolution tier is unlocked. The following Evolution tiers, their requirements for unlocking them, and their related perks, are shown below;

    Evolution I[edit | edit source]

    • Weakpoint hits charge Incarnon Transmutation; Alt Fire transmutes. Switching back will expend any remaining charge.
    • Critical Chance increases with uninterrupted shots fired.
      • Shots gain an increasing Critical Chance bonus while the trigger is held, up to +200%. Damage, Critical Chance, Critical Multiplier, and Status Chance are increased, but Fire Rate is lowered.
        • Critical chance bonus is additive to  Pistol Gambit and similar bonuses.
    • Mode switching is not instantaneous and has an animation equal to the weapon's reload speed.
    • Incarnon Form is activated by filling the Incarnon Transmutation gauge that appears under the reticle by achieving weakpoint hits and then pressing the Alternate Fire button. 15 weakpoints will completely fill the gauge. A full gauge is not required to activate Incarnon Form.
      • Charges do not generate on the backpacks of most MOA variants, or vulnerability spots generated by  Sonar or  Detect Vulnerability in places other than actual weakpoints.
      • Weakpoints on corpses or Invulnerable targets do not build charges.
      • Individual Multishot bullets can build charges.
    • Instead of drawing ammunition from its reserves, the Cestra's Incarnon Form uses a separate "magazine" with each charge producing 10 rounds to a maximum of 150. Once all ammunition is expended, the Cestra reverts to its normal form.
      • Incarnon Form's magazine is not affected by mods.
      • Incarnon Form is not affected by Ammo Efficiency (such as  Energized Munitions).
      • Charges and Incarnon Form persists through all activities, such as holstering, bleedout, or being disarmed. However, charges and Incarnon Form are removed upon death.
    • Swapping to and from Incarnon Form will fully reload the normal form's magazine.

    Evolution II[edit | edit source]

    • Unlock Challenge: Complete a solo mission with this weapon equipped.
    • Perk 1: Steadfast Grit:
    • Perk 2: Fortress Salvo:

    Evolution III[edit | edit source]

    • Perk 1: Rapid Reinforcement:
    • Perk 2: Slayer's Nerve:
    • Perk 3: Swift Deliverance:

    Evolution IV[edit | edit source]

    Tips[edit | edit source]

    • If you are planning to make extensive use of this weapon,  Heated Charge and/or  Expel Infested will be necessary to fight the Infested; as this weapon has no  Slash Damage, neither  Razor Shot nor  Maim will have any effect.
    •  Pistol Ammo Mutation (or its  Primed counterpart),  Trick Mag,  Pistol Scavenger or Squad Ammo Restores will be necessary to counteract the high rate of ammo consumption.
    • While having good base accuracy, the Cestra has significant recoil that scatters its shots, making it ineffective for long range shooting.  Steady Hands is a must if one plans to utilize the Cestra's high base accuracy effectively.
    • To counteract the pause that occurs between releasing and pressing the fire button, use fire rate mods like  Gunslinger or  Lethal Torrent.

    Trivia[edit | edit source]

    • The Cestra's barrel rotates clockwise slowly when not in use, and spins faster as it is fired.
    • The reload animation consists of the player pulling out the barrel, flipping it and reinserting it back into the Cestra, oddly making the revolving barrel the magazine itself.
      • This may suggest that the cylinder may be composed of two separate batteries; one used to fire plasma shots while the other is collecting energy from the ammunition reserve of the user.
    • The Cestra may be a numeral-derived name, just like other Corpus-designed weapons released around the time: the  Tetra, which has a barrel with four blocks attached and a "quad-chambered magazine"; and the  Penta, which has a five-grenade magazine. Cestra may be a corruption of Sexa-/Sext-, from sixth, and has a rotating section with six blocks.
      • While Tetra- and Penta- are Greek numeral prefixes, Sexa-/Sext- is a Latin numeral prefix. The appropriate Greek prefix would be Hexa-.

    Bugs[edit | edit source]

    • Currently, the Cestra and its counterparts ( Dual Cestra and  Secura Dual Cestra) cannot increase the damage of  Antimatter Drop.
    • When holding a Datamass in a mission, the Datamass will spin whilst reloading.
